When it came to Randy Moss, Tennessee Titans coach Jeff Fisher wasn’t providing many hints about the organization’s intentions early on Wednesday. But quarterback Kerry Collins said if the Titans wanted to sign Moss, he was all for it.

That means Sanchez will have made major progress in an area that was a huge concern coming into a season in which the Jets are thinking Super Bowl.

There have been a handful of other near-misses this season, including a pass that Braylon Edwards tipped away from a Vikings defender and was called for offensive pass interference. Two interceptions have also been overturned.

The Indianapolis Colts rocked, destroying the New York Giants in a 38-14 rout victory. Last time these two faced was in 2006,as the score was a 26-21 win. Now the victory is a 19-point difference.

The Colts played excellent defense and were riding smoothly on all aspects of the game. Next week, they face the Denver Broncos. I expect another great game like this. I am very excited now that the Colts finally got back into running the ball well. I expect 900 rushing yards at the least for Joseph Addai currently. From what I saw from him and Brown, they can both be a very feared rushing attack for the Colts. I look to see a lot of what they did last night.

Ahmad Bradshaw, who is now the starting running back for New York this year, ran for 89 yards on 17 carries. Danny Ware would rush for 15 yards on two carries.

What I was really proud of was the Colts’ running game. Joseph Addai would rush for 92 yards on 20 carries to bring a 4.6 yards-per-carry average. Addai couldn’t be stopped,Houston Rockets, as he was showing his great ball-carrier vision and toughness. Meanwhile, Donald Brown showed his blazing speed, going ahead for 69 yards on 16 carries with a touchdown.

Peyton Manning and the Colts’ passing attack will be good as usual. I really hope Indy can play that kind of defense again, because that was truly amazing. One thing is that they need to tweak up that rush defense. However,Houston Colt, Clint Session and Bob Sanders hope to return for next week, so it could help out a lot.

“I told him I loved him,” Peyton said of their ten-minute conversation after the game. “I think they will be fine. They play the Titans next week and we’ll being pulling hard for them to help us in the AFC South. We will do our best to help them when we play all these NFC East teams. I am proud of him and I love him.”

Though Manning really took it to Eli and the Giants, it all goes down that it is just a game. Manning probably cares more for his brother than this victory.

Browns center Alex Mack suggested Harrison should be worried about his own health. Mack said Harrison’s concussion-causing hits Sunday on Browns wide receivers Massaquoi and Joshua Cribbs weren’t isolated.

“He’s fine,” Clark said. “Obviously it’s a tough situation and he was able to handle it the way he needed to. We’re glad to have him back.”

Smith also said Harrison’s situation won’t be a distraction on Sunday.

“Is that who we’re playing?” Smith said, only kidding.

“That’s not James, that’s a misunderstanding,” Hoke said. “He goes out and plays hard. There’s not a dirty ounce in his body. … It’s all about hard work for him. He’s one of the first guys in here in the morning and one of the last to leave. He’s a class act. It’s good to see him back because he’s a humongous part of our team.”

Drafted 14th overall in 2009, Jenkins started his NFL career at cornerback, the position in which he thrived at Ohio State. As a rookie, he was a special teams regular who had to earn whatever defensive snaps he could get, usually as the fifth or sixth defensive back in obvious passing situations.

With Porter and Greer close to returning, Jenkins won’t have to play cornerback as much. Yet, with Sharper also back at free safety, Jenkins is likely to keep rotating between safety and nickel back as matchups warrant.

Apparently, Jenkins’ eyes were right where they needed to be against the Steelers, particularly on a critical fourth-down pass he broke up in the third quarter when Pittsburgh,Houston Texans Jerseys, down only 6-3, had driven into Saints territory.

The major difference, Jenkins said,Quebec Nordiques, is that a safety makes the defensive calls and has to know when to give help to cornerbacks. Cornerbacks, meanwhile, rely on the safety for the play calls, often have their backs to the play and must know when safety help is coming.

“He’s really played well for us at the corner position the last couple weeks,” Saints strong safety Roman Harper said. “As everybody’s gone down, he’s had to step up,Seattle Pilots, got his hands on the ball a couple times … and really made a couple big plays.”

During the offseason, the Saints decided to turn Jenkins into a free safety, believing that at 6-feet, 204 pounds, he was well suited for it. The change also gave Jenkins a chance to compete for a starting job on opening day because last year’s starter, Darren Sharper, had offseason knee surgery and went into the season on the physically-unable-to-perform list.

“People don’t understand how tough it is to start off the year at safety and then move to cornerback,” said Sharper,Randy Moss at Vikings Press Conference ‘Very Fortunate to Be Back Home’, who briefly made a similar switch early in his career. “It’s two different things you’re looking at. Only guys who understand the game and guys that are athletic and versatile as he is are able to make those switches.”

Injuries have forced the Saints to play the second-year defensive back at multiple spots – from safety to cornerback to nickel back – and Jenkins has won his coaches’ confidence at every turn.

Then early in Sunday night’s victory over Pittsburgh, rookie cornerback Patrick Robinson hurt his ankle, meaning Jenkins would be at cornerback on every down.

Notes: Reggie Bush did not practice, but Payton said the running back is close to returning from his broken right leg and will play in Carolina if he’s ready, rather than being rested until after the Week 10 bye. … WR Marques Colston was limited in practice because of a right hand injury. … K Garrett Hartley sat out with a right ankle injury, but is expected to be ready to kick by Sunday, Payton said. DETROIT — With the game on the line Sunday, Washington Redskins coach Mike Shanahan trusted backup Rex Grossman more than starter Donovan McNabb.

“You just have to learn from it and move on,” McNabb said. “I did it then, and I’ll do it now.”

“He makes the decisions, I just continue to go with it and just cheer for my team,” he said. “We had opportunities we just didn’t take advantage.”

The six-time Pro Bowl quarterback has his lowest rating since 1999 when Philadelphia drafted him No. 2 overall and he started six games.

“My arm got hit, so I wasn’t able to follow through with the throw,” said McNabb, who was 17 of 30 for 210 yards with a TD and an interception.

McNabb was benched for just the second time in his career. The other time was two years ago against Baltimore, when he was playing for Philadelphia.

Washington had a 25-20 lead with 4:40 left when Alphonso Smith stepped in front of McNabb’s pass at the Redskins 41 to set up the go-ahead TD.

The Redskins (4-4), who have a bye this week, will have a lot of time to work on correcting their mistakes and likely answer McNabb-related questions.

McNabb refused to publicly question the eyebrow-raising choice.

Branch is at home again with the New England Patriots, the team that made him a second-round draft pick in 2002 and watched him grow into a Super Bowl MVP. And he’s at home again catching passes from Tom Brady – nine receptions in Sunday’s overtime victory over the Baltimore Ravens, a total he hadn’t hit since helping New England win back-to-back Super Bowls in 2004-05.

A 2002 second-round draft pick from Louisville by the recently crowned, first-time Super Bowl champions, Branch played his first four seasons with the Patriots and helped them reach two more NFL title games. In them, Branch caught 21 passes for 276 yards, 13 first downs and a touchdown; he was the MVP of the 2005 game.

No one who saw Branch in his first go-round with the Patriots was surprised to see him pick up where he left off.

“It kind of hit her a little bit and I had to calm her down. I think it was more so with pulling the kids out of school,” Branch said after his first game back with his first team. “I’m like, ‘Baby, we’re going back home. … It will be all right.”‘

“Here’s a guy who hadn’t been in our system for a few years,” New England quarterbacks coach Bill O’Brien said. “And he came in and got in here after a redeye flight out of Seattle and practiced right away when he got here on Tuesday. … The most unique thing about him is his ability to come in here and pick things up right away after being away for a while.”

Branch doesn’t give the Patriots as much of a deep threat, but he might make up for it on every other kind of route; those are the ones Moss seemed to lose interest in at the end. Branch has never been known to complain about his role in the offense or confront coaches, like Moss was accused of on his way out of town.

“I’ve always been impressed with Deion’s career. I didn’t see anything I didn’t expect,” said Patriots tight end Alge Crumpler, who wasn’t with the team during Branch’s previous tour. “He’s been here before, and he’s been in this situation – on a much bigger stage.”

Branch added a 5-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter and started off the game-winning drive in overtime with a 23-yard catch that put New England on the brink of field goal range. On third-and-2, Branch caught a 10-yard pass that set up the clinching field goal.

“That’s pretty exceptional for not playing here for four years,” Brady said. “It’s got to have been difficult.”

Least of all Branch.

“It is not affecting us and it is not bothering us,” Manning said. “[But] being in New York, sometimes you got to learn how to lose a little bit better. It is never a good thing. Jacobs is in the second year of a four-year, $25 million deal that included $13 million guaranteed. He will make $3.65 million this season and is due $4.65 million and $4.9 million the next two seasons, respectively.

Teammates have defended Jacobs and said the running back has not become a distraction.

Jacobs, who twice has used profanity while snapping at reporters this season, later apologized to the reporter.

The six-year veteran has been embroiled in controversy this week, from his helmet-launching episode to the Bergen (N.J.) Record’s report that Jacobs would ask Reese for a trade.

Jacobs said Sunday he had intended to throw the helmet toward the bench, but it got stuck on his leather glove and went sailing into the stands in the third quarter.

New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs has been fined $10,000 by the NFL for throwing his helmet into the stands during a 38-14 loss Sunday night to the Indianapolis Colts.

“I talked to Jerry and Coach Coughlin yesterday,” he added. “Both of them asked to speak with me, I didn’t request a meeting with them. Jacobs apologized for the helmet incident again Tuesday and also said he met Monday with general manager Jerry Reese and coach Tom Coughlin. Jacobs said he did not ask to be traded and he wants to help the Giants win.

Coughlin said he was not happy that Jacobs failed to control his emotions on the sideline.

Jacobs has been unhappy with his diminished role behind starter Ahmad Bradshaw. Coughlin and Bradshaw, who is Jacobs’ close friend, told reporters the running back did not ask for a trade on Monday.

After the game, Jacobs repeatedly apologized for throwing his helmet but did get into a heated discussion with a reporter after being asked about not going back into the game.

On his final carry, early in the third quarter, Jacobs was tackled for no gain after running sideways to his left instead of forward. Coughlin was upset with Jacobs for not running full-steam ahead.

The Lions (0-2) have a young player of their own who is beginning to make that kind of impact. Detroit missed a big opportunity early in the fourth. Trailing 28-17 and facing third-and-1 from the Philadelphia 29, the Lions put rookie defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh in the backfield. Best got the ball but was stopped on back-to-back runs, and the Eagles took over on downs.

Coach Jim Schwartz said he considered a long field goal.

No matter who the quarterback is, Philadelphia (1-1) is a threat to score. On Sunday, the Eagles were led by the LeSean and DeSean show. LeSean McCoy ran for 120 yards and three touchdowns, and DeSean Jackson caught four passes for 135 yards and a touchdown.

Trailing 35-17, Detroit scored two touchdowns in the final five minutes and also recovered an onside kick with 1:48 left, but the Lions turned the ball over on downs.

After the throw to Jackson, Schwartz lividly protested the call and fired the challenge flag onto the field before the play was overturned.

Still,Dallas Cowboys jerseys, the Eagles’ quarterback situation may not be set in stone. Although Kolb was picked to take over after Donovan McNabb was traded, Vick certainly looks like a viable option. He also played well in relief of Kolb in a season-opening loss to Green Bay.

“I stepped on the field when I threw it. I guess my stride was a little too long on that,” Schwartz said. “The whole idea is to get it out where they can see.”

Best gave the Detroit offense a boost on a day when the Lions had to start their own backup quarterback, Shaun Hill,Buffalo Bills Jerseys, because of an injury to Matthew Stafford.

Reid said after the game it won’t be hard going back to Kolb, and Vick seemed on board with that.

The Lions did enjoy some catharsis early in the game, when a pass to Jackson in the first quarter was ruled incomplete after a review. Jackson didn’t hold onto the football as he landed on the ground with cornerback Jonathan Wade, but the play was initially ruled a catch and the crowd howled in protest.

Although Reid appears ready to go back to starter Kevin Kolb, opposing teams can expect to see plenty of Vick when facing the Eagles.

“It’s not going to be difficult at all,” Vick said.

Best caught nine passes for 154 yards, the most yards receiving by a rookie running back in a game since Herschel Walker had 170 in 1986. He’s also the first rookie to score five touchdowns in his first two games since Billy Sims in 1980.
