Top Gear, season 17, episode 6.

Top Gear is an English TV-program about cars presented by Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond. The Stig is the test driver of the program, he/she/it(nobody knows who or what it is)  drives the cars that are discussed around the test track (the powerlap). Top Gear is different to other car programs because of the humor of the presenters. It’s also easy to understand because there are not many difficult  terms used. Mostly the program starts with a powerlap of a new car, then there’s the news of the week, after that they usually start some kind of challenge, then they put a star in a reasonably priced car and at the end they show a video about something special. This episode the Lamborghini  Aventador did the powerlap in a very fast time of 1 minute and 16.5 seconds, with that time it did the third fastest powerlap ever. The challenge this week was to get to the seaside in two electric cars. The star in the reasonably priced car was Louis Walsh. In the end Richard Hammond met an extraordinary rally team, from which all the members had amputated limbs.

I always enjoy watching Top Gear, but I can’t really tell why. Normally I am not very interested in cars but I do very much like Top Gear. The presenters are funny and because of that they make it nice to watch, even if you’re not a big car fan.

Top Gear is very easy to understand, so you don't really pick up words or idioms you didn’t know before. If there is a word you don’t understand you always sort of know what it means because of the context. If I want to find words I don’t understand I’m going to have to watch the episode two or three times and then I have to focus really hard on finding words I don’t understand. I don’t think that’s the intention.
