The databases organize your information as a general structure that identifies them. Each database is composed of tables where records are stored, which in turn are classified according to the different fields. The fields are the characteristics or properties of data. A field can have various values , which must be identified by the database. This identification then accelerate search processes and optimize data in memory processes. Each database can contain various and specific values , but there is a standard classification of these values , in which we highlight the alphanumeric data (letters and numbers, with a maximum length of 255 characters), numeric (can be integers, decimals, etc..), boolean (true or false), dates (to sort the records according to the dates or calculations of days, months, years, etc..), memos (not indexable alphanumeric data), and autoincrementables (they have provided to increase the value of a record one and based on integers).
The language SQL
The SQL (Structured Query Language) is a standard set of statements developed exclusively for the processing of data in databases. This means that it is a programming language dedicated to unifying all the alternatives of the different languages and various options in terms of databases through a set of common, predefined commands. This makes the programming system universal in databases. Because there are multiple programming languages and databases, would be very complex to manage information if SQL does not exist. SQL has the main feature being able to establish optimum communication (both sending and receiving data) with any programming dynamic system servers, such as ASP or PHP (is much more compatible with the latter), in combination with any type of database data (MS Access, SQL Server, MySQL, etc..). Despite being a standard language, it has the same characteristics for all databases. This means that each class database and may include certain specific options may not work in others.
MySQL is one of the most used applications on web servers to manage databases. Originally developed for UNIX / Linux, but with the standardization became a fundamental tool, also on Windows. One of its main advantages is that it is open source software, freely distributable.
